What’s a blog?

The four blogs suggested have in common that are dedicated to the shared of knowledge related to different fields.
First, Learning portfolio used in an ICT course for future Primary School teachers: http://ictsilviaartero.blogspot.com.es/ is related to ICT and Classroom Dynamics for CLIL.
Then, Blog for English Teachers edited by Oxford University Press: http://oupeltglobalblog.com/ is intended for teachers, trainers, lecturers, authors and anyone else with an interest in keeping up with what’s happening in the world of ELT.

In addition, a blog on CLIL (Classroom Content and Language Integrated Learning): http://clilforsuccess.blogspot.com.es/ is a blog for teachers interested in developing their CLIL skills where experiences, researchers, resources, and ideas are shared.
Finally, a literature blog:  http://bibliopoemes.blogspot.com.es/ is dedicated to sharing poetry for children and teenagers.

I think that the three following sites explain in a quite clear way the concept of blog:

First of all, a blog is a public tool which main aim is to share information and personal opinions of the author about whatever topic. The structure of a blog is similar to the one of a diary, the person who writes the entries is called blogger and the visitors can add comments to these entries.

At the language classroom and education field in general blogs are considered as a modern and quite useful tool since teachers can support their students by sharing with them materials, videos, explanations...Moreover, blogs give students a great opportunity to learn new languages since, by them, they can practice most of the several skills of the language.

Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that this tool has to be used in a responsible and respectful way and the blogger plays the role of moderator.
